The Island of San Giorgio in Venice Thursday, December 15th San Giorgio Maggiore island lies just across from St. Mark's Square. It is one of Venice's icons. It was photographed, shot in films, and painted by Monet, Turner and others. The island's long history starts with the Romans. Then the first church was built in 829. The curren church in all its magnificence is the work of Andrea Palladio the great. Get ready for Snap Time as we go to the campo in front of the church. The view over the city is second to none. More snaps ahead as we see the interior of the church, the harbour. Our finale is the glasswork in "Le Stanze del Vetro" exhibition hall.
